The Andrlův chlum hill with its altitude of 559 meters has always been an ideal place for an observation tower, from which the tourists could admire the surroundings. The construction of the first observation tower in this place was inititated by the Society for Embellishing in Ústí nad Orlicí. The models for their project were the obervation towers in Vrchmezí and Bouzov. Precedence was given to the Bouzov-model. The architect Josef Hernych elaborated the project of the wooden construction and prepared the budget. In August 1905, the observation tower was ready to be opened for the public. The Society for Embellishing became the owner and the keeper of the object. The neat and frequently visited observation tower was functioning until 17 April 1918, when it burnt down completely. The construction of the second observation tower was initiated by the Czech Tourist Club only in 1941. Its members conducted successful negotiations with the Institute of Geography at the Ministry of the Interior for the possibility of building a wooden triangular tower on the Andrlův chlum hill that would be supplemented with a viewing platform and banisters. These ancillary expenses were supposed to be paid by the Czech Tourist Club. The contract was signed and the 35-meter high wooden observation tower was opened in September 1941. Enduring climatic influences caused the gradual destruction of the object that was teared down in 1954. The third observation tower is the result of the common project of the town Ústí nad Orlicí and four other partners. The designer of this multifunctional telecommunication tower is the engineer Janota. The steel construction is 49,6 meter high and the viewing platform is located in the height of 34,6 meters. This observation tower, also known as “Silver Beautyˮ, was opened on 19 May 1996. The contemporary keeper of the object is the Czech Tourist Club. In good weather, the visitors may see the Eagle Mountains (Orlické hory), the Giant Mountains (Krkonoše), the Králický Sněžník hill or the horizons of the Svitavy Highland (Svitavská pahorkatina).
